BASINGSTOKE'S
NIGHT LIGHT WINTER SHELTER
Between December and February each year, in partnership with Basingstoke & Deane's Social Inclusion Partnership (SIP), the Night Light Winter Shelter Basingstoke operates a pop-up winter night shelter for those who are sleeping rough, so they don't have to sleep outside where it is unsafe and cold. The Shelter, which operates in a number of church buildings across the town, provides not only basic needs such as a bed and food but also a warm and welcoming environment in which up to 15 guests can feel accepted and cared for.
Night shelters save lives during the coldest months of the year. Light up a path in the darkness and help bring in people who are sleeping rough in from the cold this winter. With a hot meal, and a warm bed for the night, it could change a person's life for good.
2021-2 UPDATE: See the latest information on the Volunteer page.
*The Shelter is not a drop-in. Guests are referred to the Shelter by various agencies in the Social Inclusion Partnership.
